Light was Everywhere by Richard Wehrman

The following is copyright material from Richard Wehrman’s new book, Light was Everywhere.

Four wonderful poems from his recent book of poetry, Light was Everywhere.

Arriving

You are arriving
at your beginning,
where it is your chance
to carry who you are
to the one who is you
but older;
who waits for you
in your future,
Who knows the joys you
do not yet know,
who grieves the pains
you have not yet suffered,
who holds the light
and whispers

Come to Me!
Bring your whole life lived –
where we will hold
each other
in the dance, and love
the world together.

Raindrops

Raindrops on cement
ripple the gray
morning sky.
Crisscrossed and concentric,
I ride the tiny waves
within the three – foot square
of the stoop outside
my window –
the way I rode a swing
in childhood,
up into the sky and down
reaching for
the earth
and heaven.

Radiance

Past yourself
I see,
radiance illumined –
Who You Are,
and forever in infinity
will be;
and overwhelmed,
my heart bows down
before your shining
majesty,
as you open your
knees are lit
by that great light
that radiates
from Me.

Through You

Deep into her eyes
I fell,
partner in the
world of form,
drawn by beauty
seen in the face
or finger
flowing:
Sister, Mother –
no, these would
not do.
Beloved, radiating
Joy from your
fair face:
Hers, ecstatic,
pouring out
through You.
